OVERVIEW
Echo is a hybrid emotional platform for adoptes and adoptive parents, combining digital and physical experiences. It guides users through a personal journey of identity and belonging, with age-based content, emotional reflection via a 3D world and abstract guides, and a unique physical space where adoptees (18+) can open their adoption file in an intimate, respectful setting.
[1] PROBLEM
Adoptees often face complex identity questions throughout adolescence without an emotional support framework tailored to their needs.
[2] PROBLEM
The official process of opening adoption files at age 18 is bureaucratic, cold, and impersonal, offering no ongoing emotional guidance over the years.
[3] PROBLEM
The lack of tools, open dialogue, and tailored support can lead to feelings of shame, confusion, and disconnection both for adoptees and for their adoptive parents.
USER FLOW
[1] Onboarding Sequence -
Begins with a login screen, followed by a short opening statement, and concludes with an interactive year slider to indicate the adoptee’s age.
MAIN SCREENS- ADOPTED
[2] Emotion & Personalization Screen -
The user selects their current emotion, which generates an adoptee avatar in a matching color. They can then choose an emotional background for the homepage.
[3] Homepage & Content Access Screen-
Displays the homepage with all available content. Each section can be accessed by clicking on its dedicated folder icon.
SCREEN- ADOPTIVE
Adoptive Parents Platform-
A dedicated space for adoptive parents, providing guidance, tools, and tailored content to support them in navigating the adoption journey and strengthening family bonds.
Entrance & Reflection Space
Welcomes the adoptee into the experience, offering a chance to revisit the platform and see their personal journey over the years, segmented by life stage
Digital & Holistic File Opening Space
A private, emotionally guided room where the adoption file is opened through a digital, holistic process that replaces the cold, bureaucratic experience
Expression & Time Capsule Space
A closing space where adoptees reflect on their emotions through a guided questionnaire, write a personal letter, and choose a future date to open a sealed bottle containing their message.
